The “Veteran’s helping Veterans” made our June 14th, Flag Day, a nice day to remember by having a special program of Raising our flag (this program included the Pledge of Allegiance, the Star Spangled Banner and the raising of the flag. A group of “Veteran’s helping Veterans” came, some in uniform while others wore their uniform of the “Veteran’s helping Veterans” (which is a black leather vest and usually wearing a red shirt). Some of our Residents have joined this group, but all of our Veterans were honored by the reading of their name and the branch or branches (one Resident served in both the Army and Navy).
One of our Residents, Stephen Mann, helped to raise the flag.
One of the ladies, Julia Casuse had the Veterans ceremonially open and close her flag which has from her son’s death. After, they presented it to her in Navajo in gratitude for her Husband’s service for his country. Our Veterans showed how important it is to protect our Flag, as we protect our Country .We are thankful to God for the many who served our Country, many for which gave their lives for the many serviced they did during their time in the service to protect our freedom.
