It was a great Veterans Day Parade here in Gallup, especially with Sami “Strongbull” Daniels as the Grand Marshall of the Parade. Sami is one of the oldest veterans here in Gallup; she served in World War II in the “Air Corp” (before the Air Force was established). She is also very active in the Veterans program “Veterans Helping Veterans”.
After the Parade, our Veterans here at Villa Guadalupe joined Sami for a Veterans Day Party at the Home. Our Residents represent the Army, the Navy, and the Marines; Sami is the only one who belonged to the Air Corp.
One of our Residents, Fr O’Neil belonged to both Army and Navy (before he entered the Seminary). Also invited were the Veterans who come to every Monday to help with Activity. We are proud of them all!
