Here in the Southwest there is a great tradition in many areas to have a “Hot Air Balloon Rally.” Usually in the first weekend of December the city of Gallup hosts their annual “Hot Air Balloon Rally.” Occasionally we are able to see the balloons (of course this depends a lot on the wind).
On the opening day several flew over our neighborhood to the joy of Residents, Sisters and Staff. They are always so colorful, and sometimes in different shape, this year we spotted one that was in the shape of a shopping bag!
In the evening, we usually like to go to the “Balloon Glow”, which is usually held at “the Mall.” Many families have made it a tradition to go to the Mall and see the many Balloons glowing in their beautiful colors. We always pray for their safety during this time of the year, and we thank them for bringing so much joy to so many each year!
