We were very happy to be able to welcome students preparing for Confirmation from St. Joseph’s in Bloomfield (almost three hours away). They learned of our work through a recent Church Collection and decided to come to Gallup and to visit our Home. All of the students enjoyed visiting with our Residents, and found that showing care and concern for others can be fun. The morning began with Bingo. The students were very pleased to be able to help, they found that some of our Residents have very poor vision while several do not know English well enough to understand the numbers and need help with playing the game.
Following Bingo, the students joined the Residents for Mass, a tour of the Home, then to help serve the Residents their dinner.
In this “Year of Faith” we pray for the youth of the Church, that they have a greater understanding of their faith and to act on their faith.
