Most of our Homes have visits by therapy dogs, but as many people know, Gallup is different. Our Navajo teacher, Cecelia, bought a new goat for her farm. Thinking of the Residents and their love for goats and sheep, she brought in little “L.B.J.”
L.B.J. is a “pygmy goat” which will not get much bigger than what he is now.
Many of our Navajo Residents raised goats and sheep, and it was a joy for them to meet L.B.J. who could sit on their lap to be petted much like a puppy. This little goat brought many smiles on his first visit.
Cecelia wants him to get used to the Residents so that he can be in the next Christmas play, where we usually have live animals!
