Many of our Residents are from the Navajo Nation, but we also have two Residents who are from the Zuni Pueblo (this is south of us). One of our Zuni Residents, Benjamin, enjoys drawing usually in the Zuni tradition. One of his favorites is from the very popular tradition of the Shalakos. The Shalakos are Zuni dancers, who in full regalia dance in both the summer and the winter. The summer dances are for rain at the harvest time. Here in the Southwest we are always very grateful for the rain dances. Benjamin enjoys sharing his talent and the many traditions of the Zuni people.
