My summer experience with the elderly was also beautiful. You asked me to describe my feelings about the service. My summer can be summarized in two words. Love and compassion. I have learned how to give and receive love in the unique way only the elderly can teach you. Wherever our good Lord takes me in my earthly pilgrimage, I will have been impacted and forever changed by my summer with the sisters and the elderly. Whatever I do with my life, my actions will be shaped from the underlying message of love and compassion that I have learned this summer. I thank the sisters for allowing me to be a part of their mission and to live simply with their great hospitality. What an opportunity! only good can come of a young woman’s decision to spend her summer in service to the elderly.
