Students from the University of Nebraska’s Newman Center come every year to Gallup for their annual “Mission Trip.” Half of the students come to Villa Guadalupe while the other half helped the Missionaries of Charity.
Several of the young ladies helped in craft room straightening up the cupboards and helping to cut fabric for Residents who are making quilts.
The young men helped outside to get the outdoor furniture out, getting ready for the hot weather soon to come and cleaning the parking lot after a very windy winter and spring.
During the meals, the young people served the Residents, and then joined them. One of the students who is a very gifted played the piano during the meals and during a Birthday party of one of the Residents. The Residents always enjoy the students, and look forward to “Spring Break” to welcome them to Villa Guadalupe.
