Two weeks after Easter, at the birthday party for April at our Home, the theme was Easter Hats! These hats were not your ordinary “Easter Hats.” Each department in the Home made hats and displayed them for all to see. At the end of the party, a department member modeled their hat. Some of the Residents designed their own hat. An employee brought in one of her goats and, of course, little “pockets” had its own hat!
There were tall hats, small hats and some showed something about the work that they did in the Home. Even a couple of the Sisters had hats. One was a St. Jeanne Jugan hat with pictures of St. Jeanne Jugan dangling from her hat. Another had different things that she would offer the Residents when they came in to visit her (candy and carrots).
It was a party that was very fun to see the different hats and the creativity that went with them. All of the departments received a gift certificate, since it was too difficult to choose which one was better than another!
