This month, in anticipation of the 4th of July celebration, we joined in a novena of prayers for the religious freedom of this country and of the countries around the world. The Fortnight for Freedom week, which was instituted by Catholic Bishops a few years ago allows us to reflect on religious freedom. This year the week was renamed Religious Freedom Week and carried a theme of “serving others in God’s love.”
