José is usually known for the beautiful garden that he works on during the summer but many don’t realize that he has a hard time doing nothing. During the winter, he waters the indoor plants, plus many odds and ends, just to keep him busy.
This year he began building a “House” which took him two months to build. He used such things as Popsicle sticks and boxes that he found here and there. When you look inside, you find Our Lady of Guadalupe, St. Joseph and Our Lord. St. Jeanne Jugan is at the entrance, with lights that light up in the house.
The “House” is a type of folk art that is very special and shows that you can make something out of all sorts of things, even things like Popsicle sticks and boxes. We are anxious to see what he will build next!
