Each year we have a day marked out as “Resident’s Day” in which we try to give our Residents a good meal and afternoon fun time. This year we had a great meals including such things as apple pie and ice cream and homemade crepes with strawberries.
In the afternoon, we had a “Carnival,” which included games with the Residents such as ring toss, basketball and horse racing. Many tried their luck in these activities and were happy to have a cheering section with at least a Little Sister rooting them on. One of the games was putting together a puzzle, I must admit they were a little difficult, but most of the Residents were intent on putting them together with the help of a Sister.
Yet, the one thing that the Residents enjoy is being with the Sisters and having them spend time with them. The day ended with much joy in just being together and sharing a great day!
